Spanish champions Atletico Madrid are determined not to let Luis Suarez leave the club in this winter transfer window despite the interest of several teams in his services. This is according to the report via Goal which claimed that Atletico Madrid don’t want to sell Luis Suarez who has struggled in front of goal in recent weeks. His current Atletico Madrid deal does not expire until this summer meaning that the Uruguayan international has a little less than  six months left on his contract at the club.

Premier League side Aston Villa are one of the teams keen on signing Luis Suarez before the end of this January transfer window as he could reunite with Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard at Villa Park. Aston Villa manager Gerrard was a teammate of Suarez at Liverpool for some years before the Uruguayan left the club to join Spanish giants Barcelona in a £75m deal.

Brazil international Philippe Coutinho played withboth Suarez and Gerrard at Liverpool before he went to join the former at Barcelona at the start of 2018. Liverpool received around £142m for Coutinho to make him the third most expensive signing in history.

Suarez could reunite with both Gerrard and Coutinho at Villa if they are able to convince Atletico Madrid to part ways with the Uruguayan national team star. Coutinho is currently an Aston Villa player after the Brazilian midfielder signed for the Premier League team on loan from Catalan giants Barcelona. Coutinho became an Aston Villa player last week Tuesday and he made an instant impact by netting a goal during the 2-2 draw with visitors Manchester United last week Saturday. He came on as a substitute in the second half to rescue a draw for the Midlands club who trailed 2-0 into the final 15 minutes of the game.

Apart from Villa, clubs in the MLS (Major League Soccer) and Asia are interested in Suarez.
