According to reports in Spain Barcelona have begun to search for potential replacements for veteran striker Luis Suarez ahead of the summer. It is understood that the board have tabled a list of young players that fit the club and have earmarked two players.

Luka Jovic of Eintracht Frankfurt and PSG prodigy Kylian Mbappe are the two players high up the list for the Catalan giants. According to the reports, Jovic is viewed as a cheaper option for the club with the 21-year old impressing in the Bundesliga this season.

Mbappe is viewed as a marquee signing the French wonder kid is one of the best players in the world already and his signing would be a coup for Barcelona.

Mbappe’s rise has been outstanding as he has won the French League with both Monaco and PSG within his short career. In 2018 he became the second teenager to score in a World Cup final after the great Brazilian Pele.

Blessed with pace and an excellent football brain that belies his age Mbappe is the perfect replacement for Luis Suarez.  According to Don Balon tabloid Suarez has already approved the decision for the club to move for the 20-year-old striker.

Suarez form has been inconsistent in the past two seasons, despite holding an astonishing goal to game ratio. The former Liverpool star has seen his game regress and his performances on the pitch have not been as good as previous seasons.

PSG would be expected to demand over £200 million from Barcelona for the striker and it would be interesting if the Catalan club would be willing to pay that huge sum of money for the youngster.

Barcelona have spent big in recent years and only last year paid a record fee of £140 million to sign Liverpool midfielder Phillippe Coutinho.
